Pianta diffusa da sud di Chanaral a nord di Guanillos, e' dotata di grossa radice napiforme , il corpo appiattito ed i tubercoli abbastanza pronunciati. Generalmente non presenta spine e per questo e' spesso preda dei guanachi.

Puo' essere asserita tra le hypogea la Copiapoa laui.

Plant widespread from the south of Chanaral to the north of Guanillos, it has a large napiform root, a flattened body and fairly pronounced tubercles. Generally it does not present thorns and for this it is often prey of the guanacos.
